Why they created the Wild Hearts Conference...

We created to Wild Hearts Conference to fill the need that we, as a dreamers, were experiencing. Our whole lives, we were told to chase our dreams and were given this fairytale idea of what it meant to go after your ideas. However, a couple months into building our business — we realized, chasing a dream is not whimsical like a fairytale. There’s a lot of grit, determination, and bravery that are laced in with the whimsy of dream chasing. At times, we found ourselves being so discouraged and sometimes thinking that we didn’t have the strength to see our dreams come true. We craved hearing stories from other women who were pioneering the path, going before us, and making their dreams a sparking reality. We wanted to hear the unedited version of stories— the stories of overcoming, the stories of patience, and the stories of believing against all odds. Deep down inside, we knew that there had to be women out there who were seeing their dreams come alive, but had journeyed to get there. We wanted to hear about the journey, the good and the bad, not just the highlight reel. We had this feeling — if needed this, other people did too. Wild Hearts Conference came out of the desire to share stories and do dreaming together. Because, we’re stronger when we rally together.

What is the Wild Hearts Conference...

Wild Heart Conference is a two day rally of dreamers happening July 20-21st in Brooklyn. The conference is featuring ten keynote speakers and two panels. Hailing from all over the United States, our speakers and panelist represent what it means to be a wild heart. They are entrepreneurs, writers, humanitarians and social activists, small business owners, artists, community leaders, jewelry makers — essentially, women on a mission to use their skills, talents, and ideas to make a dent in the universe. Throughout the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from women just like them who have taken big leaps of faith and are producing magic in the world. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other like-minded females to collaborate, share stories, and do life and dreaming together. And, of course, in perfect Wild Hearts fashion — there will be one massive party (toasts + champagne included!) to celebrate each other and the dreams we are chasing.

What it means to them...

Being a wild heart means that you refuse to sit on the sidelines of life, but rise with courage to accomplish all that you were created to do. It means that despite what “makes sense” — you go after your dream with belief that anything can happen.  It means, despite your past shortcoming, failures, or experiences — you get back up, take a deep breath, and keep chasing your dream. It means that despite the disappointments, the waiting, or the challenges — you remain hopeful, wild, and untamed — armed with bravery and dedicated to the dream inside of you.

Why they want it to bring to the rest of the world...

Harold Whitman once said, “Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” At the core of Wild Hearts is a desire to see women in our society come alive, find their purpose, and live it out. Our ancestors came to this country to chase the American Dream. They worked hard, broke the rules of normal, and achieved success in ways their ancestors never dreamed of. However, today, the American Dream has been diluted to survival — working to pay the bills + settling for things that don’t bring us fulfillment. Our hope is to inspire our generation (and future generations), to reject “normal”, dive into the grandness that life has to offer, and dream again. We hope to empower women to not just find their purpose and dream, but to equip them with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need in order to make a dent in the universe. We concur with Mr. Whitman, the world needs people to come alive — the world needs dreamers to chase dreams and magic makers to take their place in the world. Because, when we come alive — we’ll all be able to do our part to make the world a more beautiful place. We’ll be able to create change, spread hope, and bring freedom to those who crave it.
