InkTober: Women I Admire
I started InkTober this year without knowing much about it. For those like me, this drawing challenge was started back in 2009 by Jake Parker and consists of doing one ink illustration a day for the month of October. I also didn’t know there were set themes to follow everyday, so came up with my own theme in order to help me find inspiration (quite literally): women who I admire and inspire me. I’d like to share a few of them with you here.
Getting Into Creative Fields?
I am a senior majoring in Apparel Merchandising and Product Development and am entirely at a stump in my next step come May... which I've finally learned is OK, but thought I'd still ask for a little advice on your end. I studied fashion photography and styling in London a couple of summers ago and wish more than anything to return after graduating.
Mia and Gionna | A Shop of Things
Gionna and I started A Shop of Things almost accidentally. We both met through a mutual friend in 2011 and the first time I met Gionna I was super envious of her. She had a blog dedicated to knitting and baking that was filled with beautiful images, crafts and baked goods.
How did I figure out what I want? Sometimes, trial and error; I like to take chances. My first couple of stabs at the music industry were made with the influence of a lot of different voices. People told me I needed to change my name, what I needed to sing about, what I should look like and how to spend my money… it got pretty confusing.
