Many like to promote the idea that music is a universal language, but how universal can it be if we can't grant access to all of its fanbase? Cassie Wilson has built a platform that provides disabled fans with resources about venue's accessibility information.

When I started college two and a half years ago, I was under the impression that women working on the business side of the music industry were a rarity. It seemed that everywhere I turned I was hearing about the accomplishments of men and that the only places for women in music were onstage, in the photo pit or doing publicity for artists, because those were the only places I had really ever encountered them.

Think Piece: BANKS

BANKS is an artist I’ve had my eye on for quite a while now, mostly after hearing her song, “Waiting Game” back in 2014. I was instantly attracted to the dark, almost whimsical tone and found myself quickly falling in love with all of her songs. I also found myself falling for her openness, her honesty, and her fierceness after “getting to know her” through her videos and interviews on the internet.

Lessons Learned

How did I figure out what I want? Sometimes, trial and error; I like to take chances. My first couple of stabs at the music industry were made with the influence of a lot of different voices. People told me I needed to change my name, what I needed to sing about, what I should look like and how to spend my money… it got pretty confusing.
