Nadia Meli | Wedding Photographer

Hi! I’m Nadia, an Italian living in Germany (that’s not my fault, my parents imported me). I’m an international wedding photographer, business coach and speaker. Most importantly, I am a hugger. When I started my business six years ago, I had no idea of where it would take me. The only thing I knew was that I needed to be free and I needed to be creative.

The good, the bad, the ugly. I would sacrifice anything to create what I want to create and that’s exactly how my mind works as a photographer. The human brain works as a partnership with you as the one who is working along-side of this organ. Some say you cannot control the brain, as some say it controls them so much that they notice they become one with their brain. I’ve seemed to come to the conclusion that I allow my brain to do the work for me.

Some of us are born knowing what we want to do. Not me. I was just born. I was, however, born with my eyes wide open. My Dad says I was looking around the room with just my head out. Maybe that's a clue to who I am supposed to be; a sign of the visual legacy I am to leave in this world. Maybe I was just a weird kid. Either way, I started life with my eyes open. Creepy? Yes. Observant? Absolutely.

Where does one start when writing about the path to entrepreneurship, especially as a female? I guess somewhere around the beginning when I liked too many things at once and couldn’t keep a full-time “proper” job no matter the salary. I was restless, curious and had too many ideas of my own. Sound familiar?

I’ve heard many times from multiple people that the the music industry is not competitive, but it definitely is. There is always someone out there who is not going to believe in you and silently bring you down, especially in this day and age where it’s as easy as hitting “send” on a nasty tweet, slyly aimed towards another.
